Oklahoma wrestling camp

This summer my boys and Bryce went to Stillwater, Oklahoma to a wrestling camp with the Weber High Wrestling team and coaches. They took 3 large vans and drove straight through. It only took 20+ hours. YIKES!! The coaches were exhausted and it took a while for them to catch up on their sleep. It was a 4 day camp, 6 hours per day in training sessions and about an hour of live wrestling/tournaments. The camp was hosted by John Smith and Eric Guerrero. For those of you not familiar with these two, John Smith is a two time Olympic champion and coach at OSU. Eric is a 3 time NCAA champ and was an Olympian in 2004. He is the assistant coach at OSU. Below is a picture with the team including John Smith in the orange shirt in the middle.

The last day of the camp the boys were in a bracket tournment. They wrestled kids from all over the nation. Brayden won 2 out of 3 matches and took 2nd for his weight division.

Tyler's match was tough against a kid from Oklahoma. He lost by 1 pt. in the final round.

Here is the team posing for a group picture in the OSU wrestling room.

Tyler and Brayden are 3rd and 5th from the right side in the bottom row.

On the way home they went through Denver and stayed overnight. They went to a big waterpark the next day and then traveled the rest of the way home. They had a great time, learned a ton, and are looking forward to the upcoming wrestling season!

Fun in Arizona

While the boys were in Oklahoma for wrestling camp, Ellie and I flew to Arizona to see my sister Pam and her family. We had a great time! It was really hot while we were there in June, like 110 degrees for the low during the day, so we just lived in her pool. It was a very relaxing trip for me. We slept in, hung out by the pool, did a little shopping, and went to see Cars 2. Ellie had a lot of fun playing with her cousins. We didn't see much of Brittany. She is Pam's oldest and went on a dance trip to California. But we did get to see her for a couple of days.

Here they are in the pool on the first day.
We got Ellie this Cars floatie and she just lived in it all week. She loved the water! But of course didn't get her face very wet.
Sadi and Ellie
We went to a swim meet for Kali one night. She did awesome!! She took 1st in almost all of the heats she was in. Go Kali!!
Overall, it was a fun time! Thanks Pam and Ryan!

Swimming Lessons

Every summer I enroll the kids in swim lessons at The Peak in Brigham. I want my kids to be able to swim because I am not a good swimmer and I wish I was. Tyler is an awesome swimmer and could be on a swim team if he had more time. He didn't need lessons this year. So it was just Brayden and Ellie.

Well, Ellie is just like her mom. She is not a water lover. She took lessons last summer and we struggled to even get her in the water. This year was better. She got right in and enjoyed it, but when it came time to putting her face in the water, she didn't like it so much. There were tears and moments when she had to sit out with mom for a bit, but she always got back in and kept trying.

Here she is practicing wearing a life vest.

Brayden did great this year. He is getting really good at the front crawl and his back stroke. I am really proud of him.

Idaho Falls tourney

Brayden and Tyler played in the Idaho Falls tournament this summer. Tyler's team went won 2 and lost 2 games. Brayden's team did awesome! They won all 4 games and the championship game. They were so excited! Grandpa and Grandma Clark came and watched too. Brayden actually hit a homerun which he was so excited about. Good job Weber Baseball!!

Preschool Graduation

Ellie loved preschool this year and had a great teacher. She had her graduation a couple of months ago, sorry I am so slow at posting pictures. She had to memorize a part and give it in front of the whole audience. She did a great job! I thought she would be too scared to do it but she wasn't. She also sang some songs with her class.

She is way excited to have Teacher Misty again this fall and can't wait for school to start.
