A mind of her own!

Ellie is definitely the queen of the house. Whatever she says, goes! I'm not sure why, probably because she is the youngest and our only girl. She is definitely spoiled. Well this morning I was going to get her dressed and opened up her drawer and asked her if she wanted to wear the pink pants or the black pants. Well, she quickly saw another bright orange summer outfit and decided that she wanted to wear it. I told her it was cold today and she should probably wear pants. As you can see, she won!! :)

Kids say the darndest things

Ellie woke up this morning crying around 7am. Bryce went and got her out of bed and brought her to me. She started saying "Kitty bite me." We tried to understand what she was talking about so we asked her some questions. She just kept responding with "kitty bite me." Then she said the kitty bit Tyler too. I think she had a dream about a kitty and it actually bit her. Hopefully that means she will never want a kitty. Sorry to all those cat lovers out there, but I hate them.

Yesterday, as I was looking over Brayden's school work he brought home, I noticed one paper that he had written his name on in his best handwriting. This is not a normal feat for him. He tends to write very sloppy and you can hardly tell what it says. I told him how much I loved the way he had written his name and told him that all he has to do is slow down and take his time and he can write really nice. His response was, "Ya, but it took me like an hour to write it!"

St. George weekend

This last weekend we went to sunny St. George for Tyler's first baseball tournament of the season. We had a fabulous time and the weather was beautiful. It was in the 70's and 80's. Tyler's team did great. They won 2 out of 4 games. They had a couple of heart breaker games that they lost by 1 point in the final inning. Tyler played very well. He was the lead off hitter and got on base just about every time at bat. He hit several singles, and even a few doubles and triples. He played 2nd base the majority of the tournament and made some great plays. He even pitched one inning which didn't turn out real well, but at least he had the experience. Tyler is playing with a new team this year. He played the fall season with them and decided he wanted to continue to play with them. His teammates are great and so are his coaches. I think it was a great move to be a part of this team.

We had a great weekend together as a family. Brayden hung out with some of the brother's of Tyler's teammates. He had a lot of fun swimming in the hotel pool. Ellie had a great weekend too. She enjoyed the sunny weather and the chance to be outside all the time. She enjoyed the playground at the ball parks as you can see from the pictures. Overall, we had an awesome time and I told Bryce I was ready to move to St. George. I could definitely handle the weather all the time.

Cheese!!

Isn't she cute?

I-spy Quilt

I finally finished a quilt I have been working on for about a year and a half. It is my first quilt that I actually pieced together. Our ward has a quilting group and we had started a block exchange to do this I-spy quilt. I thought the idea of an I-spy quilt sounded fun and was something I could handle. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. I owe thanks to my mom and mother in law for their help with it. It will be perfect for all the baseball games we will be going to soon.
