1st Weekend of Baseball

Last Saturday was our first weekend of baseball. Both Tyler and Brayden are playing on competitive teams this year. We had two double-headers. That is a total of 4 games or 8 hours of baseball. Brayden's games were in the morning in Tremonton. He won the first one and lost the second one. At this age, the innings are LONG. Basically the pitcher walks most of the batters and then they steal each base and end up scoring. Brayden walked all 4 times he got up to bat. He did great at his base running. He would slide into each base. He played 2nd base the majority of the game and a little in the outfield. He caught a line drive at 2nd base during the first game. It was awesome!! He looked so cute out there in his uniform. We had to miss most of his 2nd game because we had to get Tyler to his games in Logan. But we heard Brayden had a great hit. A double we think. At first it was a homerun but then he changed his story.

Tyler won his first game and lost his second also. They played two Idaho Falls teams. Tyler played 2nd base and then pitched the last inning of the first game. That is always scary for me as a mom. Too much pressure on these guys. He did well though, got 2 strike outs. I posted some pictures of his pitching sequence but they are backwards. Sorry, I'm still not that great with posting pictures. Tyler had some great hits too. I believe he got on every time at bat. The second game was pretty close at first but then they got behind 8-1 and couldn't catch up. It was a bit of a heart breaker.

Overall, we had a great day of baseball. The weather was pretty good. A bit cool for Brayden's games, but nice and sunny at Tyler's. I have a red nose to vouch for that. Ellie did well. At Brayden's game we spent most of the time on the playground area. Then she fell asleep on the way to Logan for Ty's games. Other than having to run to the potty about 8 or 9 times we had a good day. Gotta love potty training!!

Tyler hit a triple with this swing.

Notice his cheeks. LOL

SAFE!!

Run Buddy Run!

I love how he swings his arms here.

Isn't he cute?

Fun times in Montana

Last week for Spring Break we traveled to Billings, Montana to see my parents for the week. The ride there went quite well. We didn't leave until 5pm on Sat. and only made one stop for gas and a potty break in West Yellowstone. We got there around midnight. We weren't sure if we were going to go the whole way in one day, but Bryce just kept driving and the kids did great. They slept the last few hours of the trip.

Sunday we had a lazy day and watched conference. The kids enjoyed playing at grandma and grandpa's house. They had never been there. My dad made Pasta Primavera for dinner, my absolute favorite. Thanks dad!! That evening the kids wanted to get in the hot tub and so Bryce got in with them. They loved it!

The next day the boys went to Sportsmans for fishing gear and the girls went shopping. The boys came back with their very first fishing poles. They enjoyed practicing casting in my parent's backyard all night. Tuesday, we met grandpa for lunch at his favorite cafe and then the boys all took off fishing. My dad showed them where the fishing spot was and went back to work only to return a little bit later to spend some time with them fishing. Tyler caught his first fish ever and grandpa was there to see it. They were definitely hooked. Bryce isn't an avid fisherman but I think he will probably have to become one now for his boys.

They actually fished on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Wednesday, Brayden caught his first fish and was so excited. On Thursday, only Bryce and Tyler went fishing. It actually rained/snowed in Billings that day so the fishing wasn't all that great. The water was too murky.:( Thursday night Bryce and I went to the Billings temple and did a session and then went to the Olive Garden. It was nice to not have to pay a baby sitter. Thanks mom and dad.:) We don't get out much. The kids had fun with grandpa and grandma that night and had pizza and ice cream.

On Friday we went and saw "Monsters vs. Aliens", which everyone enjoyed. Ellie actually fell asleep for the majority of it. Yea!! After that Grandma took us to a new candy store in Billings and let the kids go wild. It was a lot of fun. They had everything under the sun. A child's paradise!! Then we went to "The Reef", an indoor water park. The kids had a lot of fun there. Me and Ellie spent most of the time in the hot tub, although she tried out the wave pool and the little kiddie slide. Brayden also enjoyed the wave pool and the other little kiddie attractions. Tyler went down the big waterslides several times. He actually got me on it a couple of times.

The next day, Saturday, we left for home. It took us about 8 hours this time- 2 stops and not as much sleeping by the kids. But the drive from Bozeman to West Yellowstone was beautiful. We had a great trip and I will have to say the only bad thing about it is Ellie now thinks she doesn't have to take naps and she has learned to climb out of her crib. The portable crib she slept in at grandma's she didn't like so much so she would climb out and come and get in bed with us. So we are probably going to need to invest in a new bed for her.

Even Bryce caught a few fish.

WOW! Way to go Ty!!

Easter Fun

Easter at our house this year turned out great! The night before we colored eggs which is always fun, but messy. The boys and Ellie had a great time though. We even did some glitter eggs. The next morning the boys woke up around 7:00 and Brayden saw that the Easter bunny had come. Tyler didn't think he would for some reason so he was glad to see he had brought them baskets of goodies. Ellie got some new PJs, hair things, and candy. The boys both got new swim suits and of course candy filled eggs. Brayden was excited about his chocolate Easter bunny and almost had it devoured before church.

After breakfast, Dad went to church for meetings, (his first day as 1st counselor in the bishopric), and the boys hid their eggs for each other to find. Ellie was excited to wear her new dress that Tom and Darcy got her for her bday. I was glad to not have to splurge on an Easter dress. When I got the dress on her, I think it started to itch her and she had the pretty pink bow pulled off in no time. Luckily I had a glue gun to fix it. The boys looked handsome in their shirts and ties as you can see. What cute kids!!

After church we went to my aunt Janet's in Riverdale for Easter dinner. It was yummy as usual. My aunt Janet sure knows how to put on a dinner party. We had ham sandwiches, salads, veggies and dip, chips, and jello eggs. It was all so great. The kids had a good time playing outside and the adults actually enjoyed watching "Pete's Dragon." Go figure! Overall, it was a great Easter.
