Halloween 2011

Every year I hate when Halloween rolls around. Mainly because I hate thinking of costumes for the kids. This year though, it wasn't too bad. Ellie wanted to be a witch. I found her costume at Walmart. Brayden was a hobo, and Tyler was "too old" to dress up or go trick-or-treating. We had fun doing the annual pumpkin carving. Most of the pumpkins were from our garden or the kids got them at the corn maze. Here is Bryce working on Ellie's.

Brayden did most of his by him self and it turned out great. Sorry- no picture of the finished product.

We decided to do the pumpkins in the back garage which worked out well. No messy clean-up inside.

Tyler wanted to carve one for his head. The eyes ended up being too big, but he actually wore it for a while on Halloween night.

Brayden had to try it too!

Brayden enjoyed getting his costume together this year.

I didn't want to post these, but at my school the 5th grade team goes all out and comes up with something for Halloween. This year - The Smurfs! Yes, I am the Smurfette in the middle.

It wasn't much fun getting the blue face paint off.

Fall Field Trips

Ellie's preschool went to the pumpkin patch and met the 'Pumpkin Man'. Ellie wasn't real sure about him at first but she actually got to wear his pumpkin head for a split second and was okay with it. (Sorry no picture-he was too fast!)

I also got to go on a field trip with Brayden. We went up to the Environmental Center. It was beautiful up there and the weather was perfect.

They got to climb the rock wall and play ping pong while inside.

Another thing they did which was fun was play frisbee golf and use a GPS to find hidden items outside (aka Geo Caching.) That was a lot of fun.

My parents were visiting a month ago and we decided to drive up the canyon and have dinner at the Oaks. It was so beautiful up there and we had a great time.

School Begins

I am feeling kind of old this year because I actually have a Jr. High student. It seems so strange, but yes my oldest, Tyler is in 7th grade. He was very excited to start the year as a new 7th grader. He is going to No. Ogden Jr. with his baseball buddies and is planning on going to Weber High School. He is having a good year so far. He even got straight A's this 1st quarter. Way to go, Ty!!

Brayden is in 4th grade this year and he was also ready for summer to be over. He has two teachers- Mrs. Ball in the morning and Mrs. Krebs in the afternoon. He enjoys school too and seems to be doing pretty well. We just need to figure out a way to remind him to bring home his homework each day. He tends to forget and then I have to run him back to school.

Ellie was very excited to start her second year of preschool this year at Appleseed Academy. She gets to go 3 days a week for 2.5 hours each time. She also has 2 teachers. Teacher Misty on Tues/Thurs and Miss Janna on Fri. She is doing great and loves to play school when she gets home with her pretend friends. Yes, she is her mother's daughter- I did the same thing as a child. She is doing great learning her letters and numbers and she practices writing them all the time. She is very anxious to start Kindergarten next year. I can't believe she is almost 5 years old!!

Girl's Camp

This summer I was able to go to Girl's Camp as a YW leader. I was put in as the 1st counselor around April, but I wasn't real anxious for Girl's Camp. It was 5 days long and Bryce was in charge of the kids all week. So you could say I was a bit worried. We went to Heber Valley Camp and it was beautiful. The girls had a great time and I survived as well. We had cute little cabins to sleep in, yummy food, pretty decent weather, and a lot of fun activities.

We actually did a zip line course too that was a lot of fun. I even got on it. It was pretty scary but very exhilarating.

More summer fun

Each July Bryce holds his annual Advanced Door Car Show. It is always a lot of fun, but very hot! This is the only picture I took this year of Ellie at the show. She seems to always have a blast-eating snow cones, hot dogs, jumping in the bounce house, and watching the kids in the dunk tank. It was a great success again this year!

Every summer around Tyler's birthday we take the family to the Ogden Raptor's home opener. It's a lot of fun being together at the stadium enjoying the game and then the fireworks after. A great tradition we started when Tyler was 2 years old.

Lagoon 2011

We usually do an annual trip to Lagoon on Stake Lagoon Day each summer and this year my sister was here from Arizona with her family. We all had a good time. The weather was good, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Brayden didn't like all the pictures though, as you can see.
