Swimming Lessons

Every summer I enroll the kids in swim lessons at The Peak in Brigham. I want my kids to be able to swim because I am not a good swimmer and I wish I was. Tyler is an awesome swimmer and could be on a swim team if he had more time. He didn't need lessons this year. So it was just Brayden and Ellie.

Well, Ellie is just like her mom. She is not a water lover. She took lessons last summer and we struggled to even get her in the water. This year was better. She got right in and enjoyed it, but when it came time to putting her face in the water, she didn't like it so much. There were tears and moments when she had to sit out with mom for a bit, but she always got back in and kept trying.

Here she is practicing wearing a life vest.

Brayden did great this year. He is getting really good at the front crawl and his back stroke. I am really proud of him.

Idaho Falls tourney

Brayden and Tyler played in the Idaho Falls tournament this summer. Tyler's team went won 2 and lost 2 games. Brayden's team did awesome! They won all 4 games and the championship game. They were so excited! Grandpa and Grandma Clark came and watched too. Brayden actually hit a homerun which he was so excited about. Good job Weber Baseball!!

Preschool Graduation

Ellie loved preschool this year and had a great teacher. She had her graduation a couple of months ago, sorry I am so slow at posting pictures. She had to memorize a part and give it in front of the whole audience. She did a great job! I thought she would be too scared to do it but she wasn't. She also sang some songs with her class.

She is way excited to have Teacher Misty again this fall and can't wait for school to start.

Ellie the baker

My awesome neighbor Jenny cleans out her kids closets every summer and brings Ellie some of the girl stuff that her daughter has grown out of. Last year she gave Ellie a darling Dora kitchen and yesterday she brought Ellie her daughter's Easy Bake Oven. She said her daughter used it maybe twice. Ellie was excited about it and decided she wanted to bake a cake today.

She is mixing the cake here.
Waiting patiently for it to bake.
Frosting the cake

Her brothers and her enjoying the finished product.

Bring your mom to tumbling day

Ellie has been taking tumbling for about a year now, and a couple of weeks ago it was "bring your mom to tumbling" day. So I was able to take the morning off work and go see her in action. She does such a good job and is progressing very well. She loves it too! She is able to take with a couple of her friends. It was fun to be there and get some pictures and videos of her. The first thing she did was climb the rope. I did this too, but didn't want to show off the pictures.

Then she jumped on the trampoline!
This is her doing her center splits. Ouch!! I was never able to do splits when I was younger.
Here she is with her friend Aubrey. This is the star position.
And finally she did a handstand. She is good at this. She can even do a headstand.
I got a video of her doing a few things, like cartwheels and front rolls. She can definitely do a cartwheel better than her mom. But we won't talk about that. Overall, she is doing awesome. She will be in an intermediate/advanced class next fall. In a couple of weeks she gets to take her dad to tumbling.

Happy Easter

The kids enjoyed Easter this year. Here they are coloring easter eggs. Ellie loved this of course as did Brayden, but Tyler only did about 5 and said he was done. He is getting a bit old to do these things, I guess.

After church we went outside to take a few pictures of the kids dressed in their Sunday best. Our neighbor was outside as well and 0ffered to take a picture of all of us. It's not the best but one of the few with all of us.Isn't she cute? And quite a poser!!

Brayden was excited for his Easter stuff from the Easter bunny. I think he ate the majority of his candy in one day.
Tyler was excited about his I-tunes card and he has already downloaded his favorite songs on his I-pod.
Ellie was happy with her new clothes and of course the candy.
Here is Ellie finding the eggs the Easter bunny hid. Notice Tyler in the background. I think he would have rather gone back to bed.

Overall, Easter was a success. I even made my first ham. I know, pathetic, but we usually go to my aunt's on Easter.

March Madness

This post is long over due. We went to St. George in March for a baseball tournament for Brayden's team. We had a good time but the weather could have been a bit warmer. My mom and dad were able to come and see Brayden play. It was fun having them there. We stayed with Jim and Sue West, a couple in our ward. They built a new home there that is their winter home. It was darling and we had a lot of fun.

Brayden's team did really well. They went 3 for 4 and almost made it to the wild card pick for Saturday. They missed it by one run. Good job Weber!!
